Why did satan tell the lie to Eve? To get her to weaken her husband by offering him the fruit also because he loved her, in order to get both of them to disobey the one command of warning that God gave. Satan knew their power and authority they were given to subdue the earth, and in order for him, satan to obtain it and the people on it, he would have to make a way for God and Adam and Eve to have a broken fellowship, a broken relationship. He snatched their authority away by introducing a lie that countered God’s truth which would then make him the god of this world because they believed the father of lies and put satan’s word above God’s.
We live in a world of lies today. This is not hard to see. Jesus defeated satan on the cross. That means that anybody who will Be converted and repent and make Jesus their Lord will also defeat satan through the power that Jesus in us will give. We will love the truth instead of self-benefiting lies.
Jesus said that I am the way the truth and the life. I am the light of the world. Jesus is the light that exposes darkness! He is the life to get rid of death. If the world was not dark we wouldn’t need the light. If it were not dead, we wouldn’t need new life. You can choose a religion that makes you comfortable. Religions are made in man’s image, not God’s. Man is in charge therefore the religion is useless and does not bring you into true salvation that you need to even get started in salvation. I was a catholic for twenty-five years and lived in a world of sin and didn’t care. At any time if I would have died, I would have been in hell for sure. I did not know Christ and was not taught it. BUT THEN! in July of 1985 I was in my house alone and a televangelist was on tv and was asking if anyone wanted to be saved and ask Jesus to be your Lord. It was my time. I was at the end of myself and God had prepared me for this moment the last year. events were happening to me that didn’t make sense until that hour when I knelt down in the living room. When the Evangelist asked if anyone wanted to get saved, I said, “So that’s what you got to do”. The light went on for me. I knelt down and repeated the prayer and said, “Lord Jesus, I am a sinner. I ask that you forgive me of all the sins I have ever done. I ask you to give me salvation and a new relationship with you.
Just then the power of God hit me in the chest and something was stirring in me. It was exciting. I was given a new heart, a new spirit. The one I was born with that loved sin was gone. I knew I was forgiven and now had a relationship with the Father. Something that I never had in a dead religion. I was so excited and it felt so good that I kept asking Jesus in my life again for days after the conversion because it felt so good. But in my ignorance, I didn’t have to do this. You ask Jesus in and after the conversion, He says He will never leave you or forsake you.
With my new conversion and Jesus in me now by Holy Spirit, the sin I used to enjoy I now hated, and the righteousness and truth that I never cared about now, I loved. This is why religion doesn’t work. It does not convert your heart. So you are trying to do righteous acts in the old fallen heart you are born with. As a result, people attach themselves to a religion out of ignorance because they don’t know God, in an attempt to reach Him. And because you don’t know Him the religion seems perfectly acceptable.
CALL OUT TO HIM WITH YOUR HEART. WANT HIM, AND HE WILL COME TO YOU.
[HEBREWS 13:5,6] Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have, for He Himself said, ” I will never leave you or forsake you.”So we boldly say; The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?
People on the outside who are not converted and have not made Jesus their Lord or are relying on good works or a dead system of religion are still subject to satan and the world system he made and the lies he tells and the infliction he puts on people. For anybody like this outside of christ, satan is not defeated for you. You are still under his power and the lusts of your own flesh. Your heart has not been converted yet.
Peter the Apostle said to the crowd after the lame man was healed and all saw it. [ACT 3:19] Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.
It is when you love the truth and come to Jesus, being honest about your own sin no matter how it got there and not blaming others, but just owning your own faults so Jesus can now work with you. Jesus has to wait on a lot of us to get to the end of ourselves so we will start to call out to Him from our hearts and ask Him for His intervention in our lives. Many do this just to get a problem solved but God is looking for people who want Him and want a new start with Him.
Notice that when Adam And Eve sinned that they hid themselves from God. The man blamed the woman and God for giving him the woman and Eve blamed the serpent for deceiving her.
This is the world today. Everyone hides their sin and even enjoys them. Sin is a lie. it promises life but brings death, misery broken, lives, broken marriages, Fatherless children, sickness, and disease. Depression, hopelessness, demon possession.
This is not the life God intended for any of us. FREE WILL GIVES US CONSEQUENCES FOR OUR ACTIONS. So if someone is evil and has free will to do the evil, think how much damage that the person can do. The wise ones will see the consequences of their decisions and repent and turn to Jesus.
Why does Jesus require us to repent and Make Him Lord and Make Him first in your and my life?
1] He made you and me. He is the source of life just like the tree trunk is the source of life to the branch and the fruit it produces. If the tree branch says I want to be cut off and be on my own and be a tree too, it can be cut off but it will die and stop producing anything. We people are cut off from the eternal life of Jesus when we are born. If at some time in your short life you don’t join with Jesus and be ingrafted into Him-the life you have which is temporary will be your last. Your days are numbered. This life is not eternal that we live on this earth. Being joined to Jesus will guarantee your eternal existence in heaven with joy and pleasures forever more. It is Jesus’ Spirit in you that you receive that will let you live eternally.
Time is ticking!
[JONN 15: 4,5,6,7] Jesus said, Abide in me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me and I in him bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire and they are burned. If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire and it shall be done for you.
If you live to be 70 years old you have 25,550 days to live.
If you live to be 80 years old you have 29,200 days to live.
Not a lot of time. this is a speck of dust compared to eternity. If you die without Christ the giver of life and who loves you great enough to die in your place for sin. You will never see the earth’s surface again.
Those of us who are redeemed will return to this earth to rule and reign with Christ for 1000 years and enjoy the earth. Then live on to bigger things through eternity.
SIN IS THE LIE PEOPLE BELIEVE. SIN IS SATANS CHARACTER IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE OURS. SATAN RUINED HIS LIFE, DON’T LET HIM RUIN YOURS BY KEEPING YOU FROM CHRIST.
GALATIANS 5: 19,20,21] The sins of the flesh.
1] Adultery. –Sleeping with married people. Causes death
2] Fornication. –sleeping and having sex with anybody. Causes death
3] uncleanness.– Dirty, morally impure, vile. Causes death
4] lewdness.– Sexually immoral Causes death
5] Idolatry.– Putting anything or anybody including your own opinion above God and your salvation and Your relationship with Him. The earth and people should only come second to Christ. Causes death
6] Sorcery.– Fortune telling, omens, mediums, necromancers, witchcraft, using manipulation and intimidation to get what you want from people. drugs. Causes death
7] Hatred.– Causes death
8] contentions.– Fighting Causes death
9] Jealousies.– Both on a human level and jealous of others’ possessions. Causes death
10] Outbursts of wrath.– Causes death
11] Selfish ambition.– Causes death
12] dissensions.– Strife, conflict, discord. Causes death
13] Heresies.– In this case, the rejection of ‘God’s written word in favor of the false doctrine that doesn’t line up with the Bible. Causes death
14] Envy.– Causes death
15] Murders. — Causes death
16] Drunkenness.– Causes death
17] Revelries.– Causes death
Paul said about this in [GALATIANS 5:21] I tell you beforehand just as I told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
We look at these sins as normal because everybody does some of them. The lie of the world is that it’s ok to do because everybody does it. It may be ok on this earth but it’s not ok in heaven where you and I want to go. That is why we must Get Jesus in our lives and with His power put away all these sins that can kill us and are slowly destroying our lives now.
Come to Christ and rest in Him. Let Him deliver you and you won’t have to work for it, just submit to His leading.
Remember when I said when I got saved in 1985 and was instantly converted with a new heart in my living room, I noticed almost immediately that the sins that I used to enjoy I now hated because they were destroying my life and God was not pleased with it. The sins listed above are not to make you feel bad but to expose the lies that you may be believing that these sins are ok with God and you can still get to heaven with them. This is not true. None of these sins are in heaven and would not be allowed there.
You must repent and be converted so your sins will be blotted out by Jesus’ blood. He will erase from your record every sin you ever committed in your life. Then when you are saved there will still be times that you and I will sin, but when we do we will hate it and want to get rid of it. The Spirit of God in you will not like it and you will have the urge to confess it to God and renounce it so you don’t carry the guilt of it with you. Then you maintain your relationship with the Father through the blood of Jesus and His residing in you.
JOHN 14:23] Jesus said, “If anyone loves Me He will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.
ASK FOR THE FREE GIFT OF SALVATION. GET TO THE END OF YOURSELF AND HAND YOUR LIFE TO JESUS AND WATCH WHAT HE WILL DO WITH YOU.
There is a story about a wagon train heading west. The people needed to hire a wagon master and they had two choices. One was a young man all duded up with new clothes and a big hat and the other was an older guy with a broken-in hat and a weathered face and an arrow through his hat. His equipment looked well used.
As the people interviewed the two. They asked the young dude how many wagon trains he had led through the pass to go to California. He replied none yet, but I am confident that I can do it. I am strong and brave.
Then they interviewed the older gentlemen who looked weathered. How many trains have you brought through the pass sir? 7 total. This will be my eighth. I have found the best routes and where the water is and how to avoid Indian attacks.
Do they go by what they see or do they go by experience?
Jesus is the good shepherd that knows how to lead us out of this sin-condemned world that will be destroyed. and into a new life with him. He knows the safe routes and where the water is.
