Jesus came into the Earth to destroy the works of the devil and to restore what was lost in the Garden of Eden when mankind lost unity and fellowship with God the Father. When Adam and Eve disobeyed God,s one command, we took on a spirit of rebellion and the fallen nature of the devil. God had given them the whole Earth and just gave them one command. Don’t eat of the tree of good and evil, and the whole Earth is yours to subdue and occupy. By this single act of sin, because God had given them free will, they were saying by disobeying, get out of the way God, we are going to do what we want and don’t care what your command is or how you feel about it!

They dishonored Him, disrespected Him, showed a grotesque amount of ungratefulness, betrayed Him. They returned the love that God had for them with hate. Thus sin came into the earth and satan became the God of this world because Adam and Eve placed Satans word above God,s. Another way to describe sin is [BREAKING FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD.] They were found naked because God’s glory departed from them.

How many of us that are raised in a regular household with one parent or both, know that there are certain things that our parents have or parent, that the son or daughter are not allowed to touch or go into your parent’s private room? Are the parents being mean, or unfair? No! there are things off-limits to kids because it is the parent’s private privilege to keep some things to themselves. They have supplied the kids with needs and wants and have given love, food clothing, shelter, opportunities, education, and tons more but all they ask is that you honor their own privilege as the parents. They are above the kids and by enforcing these kinds of rules, the child is learning respect, restraint, self-control, and the ability to be trusted. They are also showing how they feel about the heart of their parents when they honor the rules. This is saying. I love you to the parents and I am grateful for what you have done for me. I will honor what is yours by not touching it.

When I was a kid, my dad had a reel-to-reel tape recorder that he told me someday I could have it. This was in the 1960s. I was so excited. Then one day my parents left to go somewhere and all I could think about is to go into my parent’s room and open the lower dresser drawer where the tape machine was and look at it. So I did. When they came home my dad eventually went into his room and saw the lower dresser drawer open. He knew what had happened.

He came and asked me if I was in his room looking at the tape recorder because the drawer was left open. I forgot to close the drawer. I lied and said no. He didn’t do much about it but I could see that it hurt him that I violated his space. I felt bad also and it didn’t add to my and my dad’s relationship any. It caused division and distrust.

Let,s go straight to Sampson and what his story can teach us.

Samson was the next appointed judge to deliver Israel from the Philistines and rule also. This was before Israel had Kings appointed to rule. In the old testament before Jesus came, evil was always present just like today. Satan was possessing kingdoms everywhere with pagan and false gods and idols. But in those days all people saw was the persons or kingdoms doing the evil acts but did not have the knowledge and understanding of their true enemy, Satan, and his demons ruling over them. Jesus would come later and start the new testament and subdue and destroy the works of the devil and expose him and what he does to mankind because he is invisible to the naked eye. Meanwhile, God brought Israel out of Egypt to start a nation that would honor Him and God could begin to declare His righteousness into the Earth. God produced a new nation that He could send His Son Jesus through to a people ready for Him.

Israel would be the beacon of light in the world for God to show Himself through and teach the world His commandments and laws and how much He loves His people. By this, the rest of the world could then see and know what they were doing wrong because God Himself has now declared His standards for all to see. So the pagan nations that were around Israel were in a sense evil because they were without God and Satan was able to move through them in their ignorance. Today we know that our flesh, sinful nature, and Satan and the demons roaming the earth are real and are our enemy. Jesus has exposed them, but back thousands of years ago they did not know these things and had no way to fight them.

[ACTS 17:30] ” Truly these times of ignorance, God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent.

So God was getting ready through Samson to deliver Israel out of the hands of the Philistines. The Godless nation, just like today, Jesus delivers us out of our flesh and delivers us from the bonds of Satan, and delivers us of the idolatry and love for this present fallen world we live in now. It is now, today, a spiritual battle and not with swords and arrows. Israel had to stay physically away and separate from surrounding nations but Jesus removes the love of sin today out of our hearts so when we are around all the world practices, we cannot be tempted even though we live here. The philistine knew that God had brought Israel out of Egypt and all the miracles that it took to do it They were not subdued when Joshua defeated the 31 kingdoms of Cannan land that God gave them as an inheritance. So the defiant Philistines were well aware of Israel’s history. Look at this scripture.

[JUDGES 3: 1, 5] says, Now these are the nations that the Lord left that He might test Israel by them that is, all who had not known any of the wars of Cannan, this was only so that the generation of the children of Israel might be taught to know war, at least those who have not formerly known it, namely 5 lords of the Philistines, all Canaanites, the Sidonians, and the Hivites who dwelt in mount Lebanon, from Mount Baal Hermon to the entrance of Hamath. And they were left that He might test Israel by them, to know whether they would obey the commandments of the Lord, which He has commanded their fathers by the hand of Moses.

Thus the children of Israel dwelt among the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites. End scripture.

Joshua did not destroy these kingdoms with the rest. So Israel and the pagan nations were next-door neighbors. God said He left them there to test Israel to see if they would follow God or follow the pagan cultures around them. God was looking for loyalty and a Holy people that He could move through to manifest His glory on the earth to the world.

Israel kept failing and compromising over a period of time with the pagan nations around them.

[JUDGES 2:11,16] Then the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the lord, to serve Baals; and they forsook the Lord God of their Fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt; and they followed other gods among the gods of the people who were around them, and they bowed down to them and they provoked the Lord to anger. They forsook the Lord and served Baal and the Ashtoreths.

The anger of the Lord was hot against Israel. So He delivered them into the hands of plunderers who despoiled them; and he sold them into the hands of their enemies all around, so that they could no longer stand before their enemies. Where ever they went out, the hand of the Lord was against them for calamity, as the Lord had said, and as the Lord had sworn to them. And they were greatly distressed. Nevertheless, the Lord raised up judges who delivered them out of the hand of those who plundered them. end scripture.

There were 12 Judges in all. The nation of Israel would stray and God would allow their enemies to prevail against them and then they would cry out to the Lord, having some humility and respect for God finally, and He would raise up a judge to rescue them. The Bible calls it the fear of God which means [REVERENCE, RESPECT, AND HONOR. FOR THE UNBELIEVER WHO DOESN’T KNOW GOD IT MEANS CERTAIN JUDGEMENT IS COMING FOR THEIR SINS.]

When you receive Jesus as your Lord and are born again. The wrath of God on your sin is removed. Now God has an open door into your heart to cleanse you of all your filthiness. Then you learn to Love Him and respect Him because of what He has done in your life. In the family structure, the dad is typically the disciplinarian. But in a normal family the kid both respects and Loves the dad, seeing that he doesn’t do it out of hate but love so as to get the kid on the right path and ready for real life.

Samson was one of them. This time the Philistines were ruling them for forty years. An angel came to Manoah’s wife who was barren and told her she will conceive a son and she is not to drink any wine or such drink or eat anything unclean and no razor was to touch the boy’s head ever. He will be a Nazirite from his mother’s womb. [JUDGES 13:1,5]. Then the angel returned again to tell both Manoah and his wife again how the boy is to be raised and his job. [JUDGES 13:9,20].

In a Nazirite vow The person who takes the vow unto the Lord for separation to Him, must not cut their hair until the days of the vow are over. Samson was to be a Nazirite unto his death, therefore his hair was never to be cut. It is an outward public sign to the people that he is consecrated unto the Lord and has taken the vow.

So Samson went down to Timnah and on his way, he met a lion that attacked him and Samson killed the lion with his hands. The spirit of the Lord came on him and he tore the lion apart. [JUDGES 14:6]. He met a woman he liked in Timnah, she pleased him well the word says. Chapter 14:4] says “But his father and mother did not know that it was from the Lord-that he was seeking an occasion to move against the Philistines. At that time the Philistines had dominion over Israel. Samson’s parents were against it because if you are an Israelite you don’t marry into pagan nations. But this was God’s doing to begin to deliver Israel from the Philistines.

[14:8,] After some time he turned to get her and he turned aside to see the carcass of the lion. And behold, a swarm of bees and honey were in the carcass of the lion. He took some of it in his hands and he went along eating. When he came to his father and mother, he gave some to them and they also ate. But he did not tell them that he had taken the honey out of the carcass of the lion. So his father went down to the woman and Samson gave a feast there, for the young men used to do so. And it happened as they saw him that they brought 30 companions to be with him.

Then Samson said to them, let me pose a riddle to you. If you can correctly solve and explain it to me within the 7 days of the feast, then I will give you 30 linen garments and 30 changes of clothing. But if you cannot explain it to me, then you shall give me 30 garments and 30 changes of clothing. ” And they said to him, “Pose your riddle that we may hear it.

Out of the eater came something to eat, out of the strong came something sweet.

These companions were not loyal. they were of the philistines. A pagan nation, the enemy of Israel. They couldn’t solve the riddle so they threatened Samson’s bride to be to pry the riddle out of him any way she can. The Philistines are the world, the enemy of God because they neither knew God,s laws or His judgments. Israel was set apart for God only and anyone else was a pagan. This would mean that the Philistines didn’t care if they lied, or did fornication, or worshiped pagan gods, or stole from someone else. So there was no way for Sampson to trust them or expect them to be honorable or keep their word.

Samson’s so-called companions were now beginning to search for Samson’s weaknesses in order to destroy him.

They went to Samson’s bride because it was his weakness. She could get the answer out of him. She was a philistine after all and loyal to the philistines. As the story of Samson unfolds it is not hard to see that women were Samson’s weakness and the Philistines were going to capitalize on it to destroy Samson. They needed to find his weakness because he was too strong when the Spirit of God came on him. Samson was not completely following God but was mixing with the enemy. This made Samson vulnerable to his enemies. The Philistines just had to find a way to exploit it.

What I see is that Samson never went and found a bride in Israel because no woman of Israel would have gone to bed with him without the proper marriage. Philistine women would. He was a slave to his lust.

When we give our lives to Christ we are to come out and be separate and have no fellowship with the satanic world of darkness that we live in. Our trust must be in God, and other true believers. People who are not Christs still live in their own self-righteousness. They live and flourish in the Kingdom of Satan, [this world.] As a result, they look for weakness in a person who is a believer. They criticize, mock, and laugh at Christians because they are not one of Christ-followers. Knocking down the Christian in order to elevate their own opinions, beliefs, and self-righteousness. They are doomed to destruction unless they repent from the heart and turn to Christ.

Doesn’t that sound like what the philistines were doing to Samson?

Our job as believers in this world is not to forsake everybody and go live on a mountain, It is to let the love of Christ shine as we live in this world and give people something to see so that they will want to repent and be saved also. Jesus said that we are to be lights in the world. This means that the world is dark. Light only is useful in darkness. So we as believers can love the unsaved but we cannot trust them. They are given to their carnal nature and will be self-serving, self-righteous, self-willed. judging people by their own standards, not knowing the righteous laws and judgments of God. Not even being aware that they are under judgment themselves, condemning their own selves when they judge others.

If we disagree with them they will turn on us the believers, either with attitude, gossip, slander, hate, or just plain division, and not want anything to do with us. This is why so many like religions because they can go to church and have a form of righteousness that looks good to the world but it also allows them to live in their sin comfortably without any conviction, thinking they are righteous but never coming to the place of giving their life to Jesus and becoming saved, born again, and getting all the sins that they have piled up through their lives forgiven. [These do not know Jesus].

{2 Corinthians 5:17} Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things become new.

{2 Timothy 2:19} Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with His inscription: The Lord knows those who are His, and everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.

So we believers must always maintain Christ as number one in our lives and hearts. Everything in this life is secondary so as to not be vulnerable to our enemies and Satan and his demons. Instead, we carry the authority of our Father in heaven through the Holy Spirit and our enemies and satan have to step back and get away from us. This is where Sampson failed. Samson is an example and a lesson to us.

{ Judges starting in chapter 16] Samson went down to Gaza and saw a harlot there and went into her. Then Samson Tore the gate off of the city when his enemies surrounded him. God was still with Sampson. He had never cut his hair which was the sign of the covenant God made with him. But Sampson kept fraternizing with the enemies of Israel.

He was supposed to be delivering Israel out of the hands of the Philistines. Not mixing with them. As you will see, Samson was slowly losing his God-given purpose in his heart. the lines were getting blurry to him.

Next: Samson, {Judges 16:4,5} Afterward it happened that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah. And the Lords of the Philistines came up to her and said to her, Entice him and find out where his great strength lies, and by what means we may overpower him, that we may bind him to afflict him; and every one of us will give you eleven hundred pieces of silver.

So over the days Delilah begged him and put a guilt trip on him and said why do you lie to me when you say you love me.

[16:6,7] So Delilah said to Samson, please tell me where your great strength lies, and with what you may be bound to afflict you; And Samson said to her, If they bind me with 7 fresh bowstrings, not yet dried, then I shall become weak and become like any other man.

Notice that Delilah wasn’t even trying to hide what she was doing and Samson was naive or arrogant enough to not care and think that God will get him out of anything he gets into. Samson was sinking deeper into his sin and was now becoming blind also to his vision and call in his life. The sin was now becoming more important than God and therefore the sin was becoming his god.

Next, the same thing. Delilah used tears and guilt and condemnation again on Samson to get him to tell her how he could become weak. {16:11] If you bind me securely with new ropes that have never been used, then I shall become weak and become like any other man.

Then the soldiers would come in and Samson would defeat them. Samson should not have been talking about anything concerning his strength and covenant with God. He was playing with fire. He did not see the danger he was in, becoming more blind. You never tell your enemies your plans or where your strength comes from.

[16:13] Delilah said to Samson until now you have mocked me and told me lies. Tell me what you may be bound with. And he said to her if you weave the seven locks of my head into the web of the loom.

Deliah did it while Samson was asleep and when the soldiers came in, Samson defeated them again. But this is now the first time that Samson has mentioned anything about his hair. Deliah was getting closer to the truth. The enemy was closing in with persistence.

Finally, she nagged and nagged. {16:16} And it came to pass when she pestered him daily with her words and pressed him so that his soul was vexed to death that he told her all his heart and said to her, “No razor has ever come upon my head, For I have been a Nazarite to God from my mother’s womb. If I am shaved then my strength will leave me, and I shall become weak and be like any other man.

Deliah saw he told her all his heart. the Philistine soldiers came in when she lulled him asleep and shaved his head. When they subdued him, they gouged out his eyes and brought him down to Gaza. They bound him with bronze and fetters, and he became a grinder in the prison.

So Samson lost his vision and purpose in life. He lost his fellowship with God, He was spiritually blinded then he was physically blinded. He was going around in circles pushing a grinding wheel. His enemies ruled over him. He lost everything worth living for. The sin became his god and he trusted God’s enemy. Samson did this to himself. This was not the will of God to see this happen to him. God hates sin.

The takeaway is this that I see. First off if you are not saved and don’t have Jesus as Lord, you are already blind. You are going around in circles in this life to get your needs and wants and lusts satisfied and then do it again and again like Samson turning the grinding wheel. Jesus has a life for you that will get you off the grinding wheel and give you salvation and a purpose in life and a dream and goals to reach if you will follow Him. He will give you spiritual eyes to see and you will begin to understand the spirit realm where God lives and operates from. Peace with God because you have favor with God again.

Many things that you want to do in your heart that are good goals could be from God but it will take Jesus Himself to help you reach these goals. He put them in your heart for a purpose. As a human, you can only go so far to reach a goal but then it will take the supernatural of asking God to help you in Jesus’ name to complete it. You must make Him your Lord and believe that He is the 1 savior sent by God to mankind. Confess Him with your mouth and just receive Him into your life. It is simple.

FOR US WHO ARE BELIEVERS. We who are saved must continue in Christ. It is a growth process. Jesus said in {John 15:5,10} We must abide in Him. JESUS SPEAKING; I am the vine and you are the branches. He who abides in Me and in Him bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me he is cast out as a branch and is withered, and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me and my words abide in you, you will ask what you desire and it shall be done for you. By this, My Father is glorified that you bear much fruit so you will be my disciples. As the Father loved Me I have also loved you; Abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

So Jesus is leading us out of the trust of this world’s system and asking us to begin to trust Him in the impossible things. we do what we can and then through faith and the promises of the word, we believe God to take it from there and do what we cannot do. All of us must draw a line in the sand somewhere in our lives and say, I have had enough of doing it on my own. I need God’s help. Jesus will be waiting for you with open arms. First with salvation and a new heart and then He will begin to work with you.

God allows us to suffer in controlled ways in hopes that each person will finally die to their own pride and finally see their need for God and that their own strength is not sufficient. If a person is told about salvation again and again and refuses to receive Jesus as savior, you can bet that life will get harder and harder and your inner peace will get less and less. Every time you refuse to receive Jesus, you are siding with Satan and this fallen world. Satan hates you and me. This will give his demons the right to torment you with sickness disease, perversions, empty loneliness, no self-worth, terrible imaginations, bitterness, and pain. You will have no peace. He will keep you carnal only and you will never know that there is a spirit realm where God lives that can help you with your life.

[Isaiah 48:22] There is no peace says the Lord for the wicked.

{Proverbs 28:1} The wicked flee though no one pursues, the righteous are bold as a lion.

To finish this blog entry, Sampson was given anointing from birth. God had His hand on him before he was born. He was a judge of Israel and he was incredibly strong when the spirit of God came on him to kill philistine soldiers. Samson was proud and given to his sexual appetite. Because of his pride, he spiraled down more and more into the depths of sin to the point of even rubbing elbows with the enemies he was supposed to be destroying in order to free Israel from them.

Samson lost fellowship with God. He lost his vision and mission in life. he lost his discernment. He lost the respect of the Israelite people, they turned him over to the Philistines. He was blind to what he was doing to himself and to God and as a result, Satan through the Philistine soldiers who served him was able to gouge out Samson’s eyes. So Samson was both spiritually blind and then made physically blind. He was subject to his enemies. He was in slave labor going in circles pushing a grinding wheel. He could no longer serve the lust that got him there. His pride was about gone. He was living a cursed life.

The only thing Samson had going for him was God’s faithfulness to His covenant with Samson. Samson’s hair began to grow back. No razor was supposed to touch his head. The long hair was a sign of a Nazarite. typically The Nazarite vow is voluntary. A person sets themselves aside for a period of time unto the lord for personnel reasons. They don’t drink wine or similar drinks, or eat anything unclean or touch a dead body of any kind. They also do not cut their hair for the entire duration of the vow.

Samson did not volunteer but was born a Nazarite by God. So Samson was not serious about his God-given job-call. Many prophets were appointed from the womb before they were born, but their characters were able to handle the call. Then the person is serious because they did it of their own free will.

Samson was declared a Nazarite before he was born by God. So God worked with him. When his hair grew back, Samson cried out to the Lord for vengeance on His enemies for losing his two eyes. God granted him one more time to have superhuman strength in order to bring down the temple of Dagon their god. Samson pushed on the supporting pillars of the temple and destroyed the temple and himself. He killed more Philistines that day than in all of his past life. Notice that Samson had no remorse for what he did to God or his people Israel. He wanted vengeance only for losing his two eyes. I believe that God still granted Samson that strength one more time in order to kill the Philistines in that temple, even though Samson would die. God never lost His intent to free Israel from the Philistines.

It was not Samson’s righteousness but God remembering his covenant.

So Making Jesus your Lord will give us Salvation, vision, open eyes to the spiritual realm where God operates from. Jesus will get us off of the grinding wheel of slavery and emptiness of life and into a new way of looking at life with Him in it to help you and give you instruction. Jesus makes the impossible, possible, and doable.

Our flesh and sin and the fallen nature we walk in when we are born blind us to the truth.

[2 Corinthians 3:16,18] Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all with one unveiled face, behold as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the spirit of the Lord.

A veil blinds the person wearing it or it obstructs vision. We are born this way and as we live life, we must want more from life and want to know the truth. then we will voluntarily come to Christ and be willing and serious, unlike Samson who was an example to us who was just born into it and not of his own decision.

Those of us who are born again believers today must put away sin and keep a check on it that it can’t rear its ugly head in our lives and take away our liberty in Christ. If a believer is delivered of let’s say, [Lust]. That means it has been taken out of us. Therefore sensual pictures and advertisements and movies won’t be able to get us back into it again. But as a believer, we must keep guard over it so it cannot take hold of us again and get back into practicing it again. This goes for all sin, gossip slander, hate drunkenness, fornication, adultery. etc…. Once we are delivered of it by Jesus, we must stand guard that it doesn’t come back.

If we let sin back into our lives and begin to practice it again, then we start losing vision and we begin to feel deadness in the spirit and we begin to go in circles again in our life until we give it to God and confess it and get rid of it. Jesus loves us with a jealous love and is willing to cleanse us of any sin we will renounce and give to Him. His blood on our behalf erases it and brings us into good standing with the Father. This produces Love, peace patients, goodness, joy, and hope in our lives. What we should have always wanted.

SINS PROGRESSION

[THE PLEASURE AND ALLUREMENT OF SIN,] ADULTERY, FORNICATION, DRUNKENNESS, SEXUAL PERVERSION, HATE MURDER, LYING, UNFORGIVENESS, [WITCHCRAFT-MIND ALTERING DRUGS], PRIDE, IDOLATRY, OUTBURSTS OF WRATH, DISSENSIONS, ENVY, SELFISH AMBITION, LEWDNESS. THE CONSEQUENCES OF SIN.

1] PRACTICING THESE SINS FIRST.

2[ ENJOYING THESE SINS FOR A TIME.

3] GUILT BEGINS TO COME IN.

4] SELF WORTH BEGINS TO DIMINISH.

5] HOPELESSNESS BEGINS TO SET IN LIKE A DARK CLOUD OVER YOU.

6] BITTERNESS BEGINS TO SPREAD ALL THROUGH YOUR LIFE AND AFFECTS YOUR RELATIONSHIPS WITH PEOPLE. YOU TAKE OUT YOUR MISERY ON OTHERS AND BLAME OTHERS RATHER THAN TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR LIFES DECISIONS.

7] DEPRESSION COMES IN AND YOU FEEL HEAVY AND TIRED ALL THE TIME. NO JOY.

8] YOU ARE SPIRITUALLY DRAINED AND HAVE VERY LITTLE TO GIVE OTHERS. YOU ARE IN SURVIVAL MODE.

9] YOU GO TO PILLS OR DRUGS OR DRINKING TO ALIEVE THE STRESS AND TO TRY TO NUMB THE GUILT THAT YOU CANNOT SEEM TO GET RID OF.

10] SOME MAY EVEN CHOOSE SUICIDE.

111] YOU CAN HATE YOURSELF AND NOT LOVE YOURSELF, THEREFORE YOU HAVE NO LOVE TO GIVE OTHERS INCLUDING YOUR OWN KIDS SO THEY SUFFER AS WELL.

THIS IS GRINDING THE MILLSTONE LIKE SAMSON!!!!

YOUR LIFE IS GOING IN MEANINGLESS CIRCLES

YOU ARE BLIND

YOU ARE MISERABLE

YOUR ENEMY SATAN HAS YOU BOUND UP AND LOCKED UP IN SIN

SIN HAS CONSEQUENCES. JUST LIKE SAMSON, WE SPIRAL DOWNWARD AND ARE GIVEN INTO THE HAND OF OUR ENEMY.

Jesus wants you to get to the end of yourself and call out to Him. How long will you suffer at the hand of your enemy, your flesh desires and Satans temptations working together to destroy your life?

God with Jesus working through the Holy Spirit are always there and does not judge you. If you will call out to Him He will answer. We cannot save ourselves or fix our own life.

Ask Christ into your heart today and draw the line in the sand and say enough is enough! Ask for God’s help and for the life He wants to give you. Jesus will pull you out of your misery and set you on a rock, a firm foundation that cannot be shaken.

He is jealous over you and made you and put you on the Earth with an intended purpose. He put Himself on the cross where you and I should be instead and paid for yours and my sin. But unless you receive Jesus, you cannot access His blood or His help or salvation. Any help we receive from God before salvation is His grace and purpose to show you that He is there and is wanting to lead you to His Son Jesus so you can be saved.
